Coast Artillery Living History
Ft. Mott, NJ (10 July 2004)
Page 2
Battery Arnold emplacement #1 was open completely to the public. Mike Bonaccorsi
met visitors to the battery at the magazine entrance. Mike would lead visitors
into the battery where they saw ammunition-handling equipment to include the
projectile hoist.
The ammunition display on the gun deck provided context to the armament of Ft. Mott. The 16-inch projectile provided context to Ft. Miles, which rendered Ft. Mott obsolete in 1943.
Also on the gun deck was the communications niche, which featured two EE-91 telephones which were connected to the BD-95 switchboard in the museum, and a TI bell connect to the TI apparatus in the museum.
